If the hot bachelorette is a wine aficionado, or even just a big fan of the nectar of the gods, a wine tasting party would be a great idea. There are many wine tasting schools or wine bars that offer wine tasting classes or events where you can sample different wines. Most of the wine tastings will charge a per person price and allow you to sample a “tasting portion” of wine. Prices may vary depending on group size and the type of wine sampled.
During the tasting, you are supposed to sip each wine and let it sit on your tongue in order to appreciate the full body, but nobody ever does that, so you may want to arrange for a ride to pick you up afterward the event. They also teach wine etiquette, what to look for in a good wine (is there really such a thing? Whatever tastes good to you is a good wine, right?), and which wines go best with different meals (they all go good with whatever I’m eating if you ask me). You can also choose what kinds of wine you’d like to sample and compare. Classes range from tasting of Tuscan reds to Syrahs to Napa Valley whites. Definitely a lot fun!
If you’re on a budget and formal wine tasting schools are a little out of your range- no worries. You can create your own tasting. You can go to a local wine shop and buy a variety of reasonably priced wines (anything in a box does NOT count), make a few appetizers and Voila! You have a great, fun homemade wine tasting. The only thing missing would be the wine etiquette and the extra ‘coursework’ that a formal class would provide, but who really needs that anyway? When it comes down to it, isn’t a good wine the one that tastes best to you? Enjoy!
